Learning lessons in difficult times

Welcome to Sequeli.

As health and social care services enter a period of major change with implementation of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and as cutbacks bite, the process of learning following a serious incident will become even more important. Public, professionals, victims and service users will seek reassurance that quality has not been compromised.

An opportunity for learning and discussion on current domestic homicide review issues, including joint commissioning, disclosure, involving families, drafting terms of reference and report-writing, with:

A national expert on domestic violence and honour-based violence

Author of the Home Office leaflets for victims' families

A Manager of Domestic Homicide Reviews in the Metropolitan Police Service

An IPCC Commissioner and member of the Home Office Domestic Homicide Review Quality Assurance Group

Economy counts

Increasingly, the question for commissioners is 'how can lessons be learned economically?'

Sequeli believes that just as the duty to promote integration is incorporated into the Health and Social Care Act 2012, the response when things go wrong should also be an integrated one. Simplicity should be the key.

Sequeli provides the only Integrated Training approach for all independent chairs and report writers of children's and adult safeguarding serious case reviews, mental health investigations and domestic homicide reviews.

Sequeli uses a Core Competencies curriculum for its training, because every review and investigation has at its heart one shared goal - that of learning lessons.

Sequeli thanks 1 Garden Court Family Law Chambers London and King's College London for supporting development of its events.
